INTRODUCTION
GOAL: For Brave Girls and leaders to make connections and get to know each other. This is an opportunity for you to share what you have walked through and speak from experience how God redeemed and restored your life. Your story will encourage and inspire everyone in your group as they hear the struggles and circumstances you have faced and overcome.
• If you’d like to delegate the planning of this event you can try to find an event manager that will oversee all the details for the shower so that it takes that off of the leaders that are leading weekly in the group.
• Schedule the shower toward the end of the semester so that the moms come to all the classes and you have time to prepare the details of the event.
• You can choose a theme for the shower. Get creative and borrow/purchase themed decor to make it special.
• Reach out to members of the church, small groups, co-workers, etc...and ask them to take a Brave Girl’s Standart Gift List and invite others to join them in covering all of the gifts on it.
• An idea for logistics of the shower is to have each one have her own table and those that purchased gifts for her will sit with her and watch her open them.
• Each table could have a "theme" that goes with her nursery choice listed on the Acknowledgement form and the gifts packaged according to the theme.
• You could reach out to local bakeries to donate a cake or cupcakes and keep it simple if you need to by just offering cake and drinks.
We have gathered some baby shower images from groups across the nation to inspire you and give you theme ideas! Feel free to make it as simple or extravagant as you want! Check out our private Pinterest board full of photos from our creative Embrace Grace leaders.
The Embrace Grace Baby Shower is the day we see the Brave Girls finally “get it.” They get to see a visual picture of what grace really is and how it feels for love and grace to be poured out on them. Total strangers come to bring them gifts and sit around them as they open presents for their babies. It is so beautiful to see the look on their faces when they walk in and see so many gifts and how beautifully decorated the event is. We have seen Brave Girls break down and cry, as well as grandmothers, mothers, and other family members. The message to send through the shower is how God celebrates with them; He wants to throw a party for the life they carry, AND He wants to not only meet their needs but also go above and beyond for them (Ephesians 3:20).
